The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is looking for student volunteers for the 2024 tax preparation sites on campus and the Neighborhood Resource Center on Gulf Street in Beaumont. The VITA program is a free program that provides tax filing to individuals who had a total household income of $64,000 or less during 2023. VITA is also seeking IRS-certified tax preparers. Students in their final thesis or dissertation course must register for a brief asynchronous workshop provided by the LU College of Graduate Studies. The deadline is extended to Feb. 15 for submissions to the Graduate Research Conference to be held on March 28 in the Setzer Center. The conference will focus on AI, but there are open topics and sessions from all fields of inquiry.
