LU presents leadership awards, recognizes 2016 'Seniors of Significance'

The ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ Seniors of Significance is a new award recognition presented by the Division of Student Engagement.  The award recognizes seniors who will graduate in May, August or December for excellence in scholarship, leadership and community service and for bringing distinction to ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ.

The 20 Seniors of Significance for 2016 represent all undergraduate colleges.  A Senior of Significance is one who has made a positive impact on the ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ campus and in their individual academic fields during their time in college. The students were recognized at Toast to Leadership Banquet, held April 21 in the University Reception Center.

Robert Ehrlich received the Ann Shaw Leadership Award for fostering a spirit of teamwork, excellence in leadership, and exhibiting exemplary personal ethics and integrity while making significant contributions to the ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ community.

Maegan Collins received the Bess Gentry Award for Outstanding Senior Woman for demonstrated outstanding character, leadership, service, contribution and scholarship as a student ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ.

Micah Murdock received the C. Robert Kemble Award for Outstanding Senior Man for leadership, scholarship, exemplary character, contribution and service to the university, community, state and nation.
