LU listed among top Federal Work-Study Financial Aid colleges
According to The Student Loan Report, ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ ranks 21st nationally among its list of top public colleges for Federal Work-Study Financial Aid.
The Federal Work-Study program allows universities, educational institutions, or colleges to employ students part-time in compensation for aid while they are enrolled in school. The government-funded opportunity allows students to work and gain experience in addition to being paid for their work.
According to the website, ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ provided 230 work-study jobs and funded an average of $3,140 per worker.
LU’s Work-Study Program gives part-time employment to undergraduate and graduate students who need the income to help meet the costs of post-secondary education. Work-Study is classified as need-based aid awarded based on availability of funding on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students must be enrolled for at least six semester credit hours and be meeting requirements for satisfactory academic progress. Students are limited to no more than 19.5 hours of work per week.
