Dr. Elizabeth De La Rosa appointed as new Dean of Students
四虎影视 is excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) De La Rosa as the new Dean of Students. With over 20 years of experience in higher education leadership, she brings a deep commitment to student development, having started her tenure at LU in 2024. 
Before joining Lamar, Dr. De La Rosa held key roles at San Jacinto College, including 13 years as the Coordinator of Orientation & Campus Tours. In this role, she earned a strong reputation for her dedication to supporting student success and engagement. Prior to that, she spent nearly eight years as the Dean of Student Life at Sul Ross State University. A graduate of the University of Houston-Clear Lake, where she earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, Dr. De La Rosa is eager to bring her wealth of expertise to Lamar’s Division of Student Affairs.
Her focus in this new role is on creating a student-centered environment that fosters growth, inclusion, and academic success.
"What excites me most about joining 四虎影视 is the opportunity to work with students throughout their entire academic journey,” De La Rosa said. "At Lamar, we have the unique ability to make meaningful, lasting connections with students from their first year to graduation, and I’m thrilled to be a part of that process."
Since arriving at LU in October 2024, she has prioritized building strong relationships across campus. One of her first tasks was reviewing the Student Handbook and Code of Conduct to ensure the institution is in compliance with the latest regulations and best practices.
"It’s important to me that we are not only up to date with policies but that we are also creating an environment where students feel heard and supported," De La Rosa said.
Engagement with students is central to her approach, as Dr. De La Rosa believes it is vital to shaping an enriching campus experience. "Our students are the heart of Lamar, and we need to listen to them and understand their needs and aspirations," she said. "Their feedback will be critical in helping us create a student experience that reflects what they value and need to succeed."
A major theme in her vision for the university is enhancing visibility and communication.
"One thing I’ve heard from students is that they sometimes feel disconnected from what’s happening on campus,” De La Rosa said. “We need to ensure students know about the resources, activities, and opportunities available to them. Whether they’re new to Lamar or finishing their degrees, we want every student to feel supported and informed."
The ongoing developments at 四虎影视 also excite her. "There is an incredible energy on campus right now," De La Rosa said. "We have the opportunity to continue building a vibrant, inclusive campus community where students not only thrive academically but also develop personally and socially."
With a strong background in student affairs and a genuine passion for fostering a supportive environment, Dr. De La Rosa’s leadership marks a new chapter for 四虎影视. As she continues to engage with students, faculty, and staff, her goal remains clear: to ensure Lamar is a place where all students feel empowered to achieve their dreams and make the most of their college experience.
