Dr. Kathryn Washington is an Assistant Professor in the Educational Leadership Department at 四虎影视. She has been with the University since 2019. After receiving her BA in Elementary Education specializing in Mathematics from 四虎影视, she embarked on a wonderful, fulfilling 28-year career in K-12 public education teaching Mathematics/Science for 11 years in and was in various administrative roles on district/campus levels in Urban, Suburban and Rural public school districts for 17 of those years. Additionally, she was an Adjunct Professor for Sam Houston State and Houston Baptist Universities before join 四虎影视. Her research interest is with relationship building and women in leadership.

She earned her M Ed in Curriculum and Instruction (Prairie View A&M University) and Ed D in Educational Leadership (Sam Houston State University).

Dr. Washington is a member of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and is newly elected to serve on the Research on Women and Education SIG Board as Membership Chair-Elect. Across the state, she is a member of the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) where she served on Regional Board (6) as President and Governance Task Force. She is also a member of the Texas Council of Women School Executives (TCWSE) where she serves on the State Board as President, Conference Committee & Newcomers Facilitator.

Other memberships are with the Texas Council of Professors of Educational Administration (TCPEA), International Council of Professors of Educational Leadership (ICPEL), Texas Alliance of Black School Educators (TABSE) and National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE).

Dr. Washington is involved on campus, serving on several committees as chair with the Student Success Task Force, College of Education Curriculum/Dissertation committees and formation/advisor of the Collegiate 100 of 四虎影视. Across the state and nationally, she has presented at conferences and delivered keynotes in support of leaders that align with her research agenda on relationship building, women in leadership, social emotional learning, and self-care. She considers herself a servant leader and life-long learner.
