Undergraduate Research Grant (URG)

The Office of Undergraduate Research is pleased to announce the Undergraduate Research Grant (URG) Program. The program is aimed to encouraging talented students to perform high-impact research (defined broadly as activities generating new models of understanding the world around us, development of new approaches and technologies that lead to progress of society and humanity) with faculty mentor supervision from 四虎影视.

All disciplines (STEM and non-STEM) of research, as well as scholarly and creative activities will be supported. We anticipate that in FY2024-2025, up to 25 Undergraduate Research Grants will be awarded.

Workshop on literature review for preparing a grant proposal – Presenter: Mrs. Elizabeth Sanders, Interim Head of Research, Engagement, and Learning at the Mary and John Gray Library 12:00 – 1:00pm in Galloway 108

Panel Discussion on “Preparing a successful grant proposal”. Student winners and mentors will share their experience in writing a successful proposal. 2:00 – 3:00pm in Galloway 124

September 27 Workshop on writing a successful grant proposal or a compelling narrative. Presenter Mrs. Casey Ford, Director of the Writing Center 2:00 – 4:00pm in Galloway 108
October 15 Call for URG proposals closes at 6pm. No more proposal submissions allowed.
November 1 URG student awardees are announced.
November 6-8

URG Orientation - Mandatory presence for student and faculty mentors in one of the days. This workshop is for OUR grant winners and their mentors, only. Please join our special guests from The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, The IT Compliance and Information Management and Decision Support, The Office of EHS and Risk Management, The Office for Purchasing, Procurement & Payment Services, The Office for IRB approval and CITI Training, The Writing Center and The John Gray Library.

January 24 URG Kick-off Day – Time/Location: TBA
February 26-28 Mid-term report - Meeting with the Director of O.U.R. on project progress
April 24-25 Undergraduate Research Expo 2025. All URG student awardees are required to present his/her research in this event
May 31 Final report due
